Combining travel with the joy of painting plein air (on location) has given Klaaren the perfect artistic blend of purpose and pleasure. By painting on site at events or while on the road, Klaaren creates personal memories that are unique to the client.

Individual commissions direct the itinerary of his travels as he finds and paints places his clients have dreamed of, envisioned or traveled to.

Highlights of Klaarens travels are the people he meets while painting plein air. Many stay to watch and talk as he completes his canvas panels, often becoming friends or clients of the artist. Klaaren's standard plein air acrylic painting on 12 x 16 canvas is ready to frame, but he also offers same sized watercolors or 9x12 B&W pen & ink drawings with or without watercolor wash. Prices vary with medium.

MURALIST FOR HIRE

Travel itineraries and destinations are planned months in advance. Trips are either self-generated (choosing a place to photograph and paint) or client directed (by having Klaaren crate a mural in a second home or for a gift recipient). Either way, Klaaren has the desire to travel, brings his brushes and paints wherever he is.
